Description
This a storybook cover published during the the reign of Nazi Germany. The cover of the book is strongly Anti-Semitic and illustrates a racial caricature of a Jewish man accompanied by the Star of David. The title of the book is significant since it tells us what the Nazis portrayed the Jewish population as; a threat to society. The influence on German children was the main goal of this book during the Nazi regime. Being the main goal, Nazis wanted to unify the German people they saw as equals to hate Jews. They did this by publishing books and appealing to children. Targeting the youth is strategically important since the children would be leaders of Germany after their parents. Having these ideas present from childhood would make the youth strongly Anti-Semitic. Overall, the use of propaganda such as this led to the passing of Anti-Semitic laws such as the Nuremburg laws. Propaganda like this strongly influenced other members of Nazi Germany.
